Props to Freecycle

After reading about freecycle in a magazine I decided to sign up for a local group and see what happened. That was about 4 months ago – and nothing’s happened because I completely forgot all about it.
Until last night when we had some friends over to watch THE PREMIERE OF THE O.C. AND HOLY CRAP HOW I LOVE THAT RIDICULOUS SHOW FULL OF TEENAGE DRAMA AND I’M SO BACK IN HIGHSCHOOL, I DON’T EVEN CARE.
Steve and Jen, and their sister in law Becky were talking about it and the wondrous things they’ve received through it. Things such as freezers, clothes for kids, and the possible doublewide trailer. It reminded me that I had signed up for the Holland group and done nothing about it.
Until today. I finally logged in, GASP, and posted a few WANTED adds, for things like a snowsuit for the child. Because at Younkers a brand new one costs $70.00 and why would anyone pay that kind of money for something a BABY will wear a few times and for only ONE SEASON. I’m a small bit of outraged. I also posted the want for some clothes in the 6-9 mo and 12-mo category.
I’ve already gotten a response on the snowsuit and am extremely excited about the possibility to recycle some of our unwantables to someone who needs or wants them but doesn’t want to lay down the cash for them.
There are SO many ways to save money when you look for them. Even if you were going to buy some clothes, there are places like Bumblebees (a children’s consignment shop) and Big Lots (The store that has everything, for WAY less than you’re paying now).
I love a good sale. But I REALLY love freecycle. You should try it.
