I cried when my oldest got his first haircut. He looked so . . . OLD! With my second, we just let him grow it. And he did have curls, but then they got too long and just kind of made him look like a street person, so we cut it and it turns out he looks best with short hair! My oldest, however, is now 4 and he has had his hair cut 2x in his life. He says he likes long hair ("I love my hair, Mama, it's just so, so, so beautiful!") and so he has it long . . . and it totally suits him. Ohhh, I know just how you feel.
