Fat Tuesday … Baked Donuts

This is a good one, I wrote a How To on Curvy Girl Guide today for baked donuts with a marshmallow chocolate glaze (and if you sub the butter with Coconut Oil, it’s dairy free to boot).

I leave tomorrow for Blissdom and today I’m nursing the last of this cold that thought it was going to win (hint, it isn’t winning) and packing, doing laundry and making lists. It’s been a long time since I was an attendee at a large conference (2009 BlogHer) so I’m excited to do it again but nervous, too. Here goes nothin! For those of you NOT going to Blissdom, pardon the next few days and posts – they’ll be “nice to meet ya” heavy as I introduce myself to anyone who might stumble on the blog while I’m there.

  1. Did you try them? I think if I make them again I’ll use the Honey Buttermilk Biscuits … the “dough” was a little too savory for us (says my testers) and I wonder if frying them just takes care of that altogether.

  2. We did! I actually used the flaky layers biscuits, because that’s what I had in the house. They turned out great. Me and Me two (L and Z) loved that they could peel the frosting layer right off and eat it sans the rest of the donut. Me three (D) just nose dove right into the thing, trying to bite the middle of it. The exclamation was “hey, David looks like Daddy!” when he surfaced with a full mustache and goatee of frosting :-).
