Ok … I know I’ve posted a few times today - but I there’s just things I need to tell you about.

Have you heard of Restaurant.com??? You should try it. Right now if you enter the promo code “gourmet” at the check out you’ll get 70% off. So I just bought $20 worth of gift certificates to Alpen Rose (a local eatery with AMAZING Sunday brunch) for $1.80. Um, yes.

Happy dining!

Also - remember this? Well I got my $25 and already transfered it back into my bank account - so I’m $25 richer now just for signing up. Also - someone else out there signed up and I just received my $10 referral. This is awesome. Free money. There is no reason for you not to get free money. Go get it!

May Day Guide

May Day is May 1st and fast approaching. Here’s a few links and ideas, a guide, if you will, to the fun of it all. Get your kids or someone else’s kids involved and have a blast.

Cone Basket
Tabletop May Pole
Tissue Paper flowers
Fritters to make and put in your May Cone Baskets.
How to make paper flowers

I love that Jessica is at an age where she “gets” these little things. The fun holidays, crafts and ideas. This one is going to be fun because the whole idea is to leave a May basket at your neighbors door without being seen. So we’ll be “sneaky” while delivering our baskets. And making the fritters? Oh my goodness, she’s going to love that.

Our plan of action is to make Cone baskets, Fritters, and tissue paper flowers - we’ll make little cards that say HAPPY MAY DAY and hopefully foster a smile or two from our neighbors as they find these little treasures from Jessica.

Summer of Outrageously Awesome Festivities

This summer is shaping up to be something of a fantastical time. Weddings, vacations, mini get-aways, festivals and re-en statement of the weekly “Shoot The Shit” night with our friends.

Plus???!!! I won’t be pregnant any more. Jack. Pot.

Our tentative plans so far?

End of May - heading up to Leeland, Mi for the weekend - seeing one of our friends participate and kick some serious butt in a bike race. Go Brad!

Beginning of July - Possibly heading to Grand Marais, MN for our friend’s wedding and other festivities - like hiking and being awesome. Seeing waterfalls and, in general, celebrating life.

Some time in July - either taking a road trip or plane to Washington State to see my family - but staying there for a few weeks, hanging out.

Beginning of August - watching Jessica be the flower girl in our friends wedding and trying not to soak through whatever I’m wearing because seeing her be such a big girl in a such a monumentous occasion is sure to make me let down and then start crying profusely. Being Jessica’s mom is one of the finest things I’ve ever accomplished.

End of August - celebrating 5 years with Aaron - and taking a trip alone with him. No kids! Wohoo! Lets hope we don’t come home pregnant. heh. Right now we’re thinking a week in Napa Valley, CA.

Somewhere in there Jessica starts preschool - again with the crying and leaking. Who knows if I’ll ever be able to hold it together for her “Firsts” or her “Lasts” … I hope not.

We have a lot to look forward to and even more to be thankful for. This summer? Lets name it “The Summer of Outrageously Awesome Festivities”. Check.

Roller coaster called pregnancy

We’ve made it to the part of pregnancy where everything makes me cry. And I mean everything. This morning at church, singing songs - I’m sobbing. Aaron says “Hey babe” when he gets home every night - cue the water works. Jessica has a tender moment and says “I love you” - more tears.

Commercials make me cry, the sunshine makes me cry, the amount of water on my ankles really makes me cry. A warm shower will make me cry and so will a nice cold glass of water.

Music most definitely makes me cry, in the car, kitchen, where ever I am at the moment. Reading books to Jessica makes me cry and watching the baby move in my belly makes me cry.

These aren’t sad tears either - some times they’re not even happy … they’re just … tears. Lots of them. I’ve learned not to wear mascara to church anymore at this point, it’s just messy and really gross in the end.

And some times these little moments of tears, these emotional glimpses turn into the body wrenching - soul cleansing sobbing that happens every so often in a girls repertoire of life. And at the end of all that? It feels awesome. Renewed. Ready for the next commercial at any moment.
