Bumbleride stroller giveaway from Design*Baby
- by jodimichelle
We’ve had the same stroller since Jessica was in my uterus. To say that it’s tired is being nice to it. And we want to be nice to it, seeing as how it’s our only stroller. BUT … I have a chance to win a Bumbleride stroller from Design*Baby and I want that stroller more than my right hand.
So go enter for your chance to win, but just know I’ve officially called dibs! If we don’t win, we’ll be in the market for a new stroller before spring and I’m not going to have a hard time convincing Aaron that the Queen B or a Chariot stroller is in our near future.
Design*Baby is giving away an Indie in Ruby from Bumbleride, they’re so generous. And if we won – the Indie would do just fine.
What if

You guys did not make this easy. I’m struggling between two questions to find the winner of the last giveaway. You just blew me away. When I said no stupid questions I thought I’d get things like “If you could live anywhere, where would you choose?” or “Do you want more kids?” or “How did your husband as you to marry him?” you know, light hearted little ditties that are fun yet informative.
Well, you took it one step further and went for the jugular. Asking me questions like “When I look into the mirror in the morning do I like who I see?”. FLOORED me. And this is why I love all of you so much and also why I chose to do all these giveaways.
Truth: I do have a hoarding problem, not with stuff – I’m actually the opposite with stuff, but with money and things that have a monetary value. I come by this honestly and I’m honest about it. It’s hard for me to let go and give. Period. And you know what, that’s one thing that I don’t want people to remember me for. When they look back and think about me as a person I want them to remember that I was a giving person, whether it’s of my time, money or otherwise. It’s just important to me. So thank you for being a part of this change in my life. You, the winners, might feel like this is just fun and you got lucky and how fun it is to get a gift card in the mail because you answered a silly question on a website, but I’m getting more out of this than any of you, hands down. So thanks.
I’m struggling between these two questions:
“I know you got married fairly young…at least “young” in comparison to the age at which the average woman gets married now. If you had waited to get married and start a family, what could you have seen yourself doing? Travel? Work? Hobby?”
“you are very honest on here (in a great way)
— but have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and thought “why did i blog about that?!!?”? and have you ever raced to the computer to edit/delete it?”
These are the two that I found myself answering over and over again since I read them the first time. I’ve spent the most amount of time thinking and writing and then rewriting the answers in my head. I’ll be answering them all, don’t worry. So which one wins???
I’m gonna have to say Stacey’s question – Congratulations Stacey! Email me at jodi at jodimichelle dot com to claim your prize.
“I know you got married fairly young…at least “young” in comparison to the age at which the average woman gets married now. If you had waited to get married and start a family, what could you have seen yourself doing? Travel? Work? Hobby?”
Yes I did get married young, at 19 in fact. Only 2 weeks away from my 20th birthday, though
But if I had waited to marry and start a family I see myself traveling and working all over the world. Trying anything and everything. I can see myself being an English teacher in China or Spain, having a studio apartment in downtown Boston and working in some grass roots start up company. In high school I took an aptitude test and one of the things it said I would be suited for was being a ‘buyer’ for a company and that has always sounded good to me. I would still be very much in love with a camera and maybe even taking commissioned photos for people. I can see myself being an artist and the medium being photography, but storytelling through photography.
I think I would have finished college with a degree in the science field. I love biology. Who knows what I would be doing with that, though? I also love math. As in, I bought myself algebra work books after Jessica was born because it was fun for me. So I always thought it would be hella fun to teach math to 4th, 5th or 6th graders.
And I think my hobby would be to see how many places I could see – how many different worlds I could visit within the one world I know and love. How many stamps could fill one page in my passport before the next one is used and to try and measure how far it would take me to finally find home.
And a very Merry Christmas to you

This giveaway is now closed. Winner will be announced later today.
The last giveaway of the 6 days of Christmas is a $53 gift certificate to West Elm. Woo hoo! But why 53? Yeah, it was 100 at one point, then I bought something or two and then returned one – and well, we ended up with $53 on the gift card just laughing at us. So now it’s yours. Well, one of yours.
You could buy this:

Or this:

What is it about wood slices and glass domes? Just makes me feel all cottagey and homey. Plus a little like the outdoors and I’m that kind of girl.
You could put a dent in the purchase of this:

Or this:

And this is devilyishly (not a word, I know) on sale:

But of course the more expensive option is more my style, to the bane (not sure I’m using the right word here, but it sounds good) of my husbands expectations:

To win this giveaway I’m turning the tables on you – you have to ask me a question, and not something stupid (yes stupid) like – How are you? Is it snowing where you live? or even Where do you live? Do a little research, you’ll figure this out on your own – I want the questions you’ve all been wondering about, dying to know. Within reason. I’ll answer them in a video cast along with announce the winner the day after Christmas. And I’ll be choosing the winner of this giveaway on the creativity of the question. No randomness in this one. So – what is it that you want to know? Or even read about here?
One entry per IP address PER DAY. Open to all. Giveaway ends at noon EST on December 26, 2008. Winner to be announced later that evening.
Merry Christmas!

The last giveaway is a doozie and headed your way shortly. Here’s a hint:

Guesses anyone?
brain fart

Today would have to be one of those days I just do not have it together. My brain is on a constant gas bubble of “Was I supposed to be doing something right now?” Hmmm.
Here are the giveaways for today (that’s right, it’s plural)
Package #1 is all about Babies. Blanket, 2 baby aprons (boy and girl), 2 cloth cubes made by yours truly and a whole slew of coupons for baby-related items totaling over $30 in savings.

Package #2 is all about Art. I love antiques and in a former life would frequent antique shops scouring for old photographs and pages out of vintage children’s books. Today I’m giving those away – the pages from the books and a few other prints I picked up along the way as well as one of my own photo prints. Make me proud, dress your walls!

To win answer me this: What’s your Christmas or holiday tradition and would you/do you continue it with your own family? Do you have new ones?
One entry per IP address. Giveaway ends at 8 am TOMORROW (Christmas Eve) morning, because I’m late on the draw over here. And please let me know which package you’d like to be entered to win, can’t win em both (sorry!). Open to all 50 states and my friendly-friendly’s in Canada – hi guys!
Decorating Christmas cookies is one from my childhood that we still do, although we didn’t this year – but I keep that one up with my kids. Aaron’s side of the family has a Christmas morning breakfast/brunch tradition but since having our own kids we do Christmas morning at our house with just us – and our tradition is this (it’s new) when the kids wake up we do stockings, in bed if they want – then we all make breakfast together, eat and then finish opening the rest of the presents all the while in our jammies. I love this. I’m trying to get my dad to start a new tradition where he buys all the grandkids Christmas pj’s and we have Christmas Eve dinner in our pj’s with him. We’ll see ![]()
Also? A new video cast … I just love the snapshots they use to show the video – looks like I’m about to impersonate a cow giving birth, no?
