Disclosure
This website started out as a place to keep my thoughts, as an avid journal-keeper I put my pen away and began tapping my keys daily … then I started getting paid. Here’s where I tell you what that means.
Please assume that if I’ve tweeted about a meeting with a client, brand or company in a restaurant or coffee house, etc – the meal was complimentary. The FTC requires I disclose that.
Please assume that if I’m wearing a t-shirt with a logo on it, I was given that t-shirt complimentary. The FTC requires I disclose that.
Please assume that if I’m not specifically disclosing every single time I’m treated to a meal, cup of coffee, piece of clothing or gadget that someone has paid for it and not my opinion, as all my opinions are my own. I self-sponsor most of the content on www.jodimichelle.com (so I pay for the materials needed to write a story, tutorial or how to); however I’m paid to write on other websites, for other companies and to work with brands that do not live exclusively here on this website.
When I tell you about those projects, it’s safe to assume (and I’m disclosing here) that I’m paid to do so.
I work for larger companies who specifically ask me to include their disclosure in my projects when I work with them, and I do (and will) every time. You’ll see those at the bottom of those posts, specifically.
Advertising that may live on the sidebars of www.jodimichelle.com are paid for by such companies. Some times requiring me to give metrics and audience demographics. All found for free at Quantcast.com or via Google Analytics. I will not ever sell your information to a third party. Emails and specific information (that are required to leave a comment) are never discussed or part of an advertisers package.
General Disclosure:
I, Jodi Schaap, author and owner of www.jodimichelle.com, am a freelance writer and brand ambassador. I’m paid for my time and my craft of writing/photography often times tweeting and sharing this experience with my audience here. As a blogger I choose not to do product reviews for free and very seldom bring a review to my website as they’re douche-y in genre and dilute my credibility. All my opinions are my own but some times I’m paid to have one.
Happy FTCing! Consider yourself disclosed.
